BEHIND THE SONG: "She Won't Be Lonely Long"

For Clay Walker’s recent Top 5 hit “She Won’t Be Lonely Long,” written by Galen Griffin, Doug Johnson and Phil O’Donnell, the singer knew that it would connect with fans. Clay tells CMT, “I’m a believer in songs people can dance to. More of those songs tend to be hits.” He adds, “It made me feel like dancing.”

Clay recalls hearing the song for the first time. He shares, “The melody was very infectious and the beat was good, and I thought that the lyric was just outstanding. It wasn't one of those songs I had to keep listening to over and over. I knew on the first listen -- and that's normally my big barometer if a song is going to be a hit or not."

The follow-up single to “She Won’t Be Lonely Long,” which is the title track to Clay’s current album, is “Where Do I Go From You,” so look for that to hit the airwaves soon. In the meantime, you can check out the music video for “She Won’t Be Lonely Long” here as well as read a review of Clay’s latest project here.
