What’s Trending with Lindsay: Monday, Mar. 10

They are the champions

Western Lady Panthers took over Hit Country KI 100.5 studios last week. Then, Saturday they took over the state championship against Evansville Mater Dei. The team, which has been playing together since fifth grade, won the Class 3A state championship title – for the first time – in a 38-35 victory. Carley O’Neal scored a game-high 12 points during the state finals in Terre Haute. The newly named state champions will be celebrating in-studio with Kevin and Lindsay in the Morning Wednesday. We like to think we padded their pockets with some extra luck: The gals called WWKI to request “This Is How We Roll” when they were on their way to state Friday.

Recovery continues

Tornadoes destroyed the homes and the hearts of Kokomo, as treacherous weather plowed through the community Nov. 17. Although it’s been nearly four months since the storms, people are still recovering. Thankfully, the Long Term Recovery Team is on hand to help. The organization is made up of volunteers from Howard County and is out helping residents of Cedar Crest – and other hard-hit areas – to continue the recovery process. If you need help, call 211 (at United Way).
