Mother Nature, go on vacation

After receiving the most-recent snowfall totals, there’s no question we want Mother Nature’s tumultuous relationship with winter to fizzle. Turns out, after yesterday’s accumulation of 4 inches this winter’s snowfall total is 70 inches for Kokomo – making it the second snowiest winter on record. Winter 1981-1982 is still in the lead for snowiest winter on record in Kokomo with 106.3 inches.

Building up Kokomo

A four-story community with 54 apartment homes has opened at Washington Street in Kokomo. The Residences is a 9 million-dollar housing project that’s part of the up-and-coming culture of Kokomo that encourages easy access to downtown shops and the city’s Industrial Heritage Trail. The apartments are adjacent to the Depot District and nestled next to the Industrial Heritage Trail.

A whole lotto money

Two area residents may be lining their pockets soon. Glenda Catt, of Peru, and Ricky Rhodes, of Kokomo, are heading Hoosier Millionaire and competing for their chances to win one million buckaroos. The show has been off the air since 2005, but was brought back this year to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Catt and Rhodes are set to be on your TV screens Apr. 17, which will be taped at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
