Not leaving on a jet plane … in June
Grissom Air Reserve Base is closing its runway for 45 days in June to make way for a 3.2-million-dollar construction project. Two aviation companies depend on the runway, and are accomplishing other tasks to compensate for the missed runway time.
Building on up
Downtown living is developing in Kokomo. A national developer is wanting to build two four-story apartment complexes across from City Hall, 113 S. Union St. and 115 S. Union St. The California-based developer is asking Kokomo Plan Commission for site plan approval – next plan commission meeting is Apr. 8. The apartment complexes would also include space for retailers on the buildings’ first floors.

City of Kokomo Street Department crews are now getting their work underway after the November tornadoes and weather associated with a wild winter delayed their annual leaf pickup project. This year, leaf pickup is getting techy – tweet to @cityofkokomo for leaf removal. If you prefer the old-fashioned phone line, call 453-4030 for leaf removal.
