Just drillin’ it

It’s Severe Weather Preparedness Week and the Division of Homeland Security has implemented two tornado drills statewide today. The first drill will be initiated by National Weather Service at 10:15 a.m. and another at 7:35 p.m. Indiana averages 20 tornadoes per year. A record of 72 tornadoes struck Indiana in 2012.

A ‘Goodnight’

Mayor Greg Goodnight is hosting his own “Complaint/Compliment” day. Goodnight is hosting his next “Mayor’s Night Out” Tuesday at Pepperwhistle Bakery and Café, 106 N. Main St., from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The quarterly forums helps Goodnight hear from the community he leads.

“It’s great to hear residents’ suggestions for how to improve our city and listen to their concerns,” said Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight.
