Some 71-year-olds recline in a rocking chair and enjoy the golden years, Jo Jordan decided to spend her golden years farming… marijuana. Jo Jordan, a Kokomo resident, was arrested Monday after police discovered she’d been farming marijuana inside her West Jefferson Street home. Police were dispatched to the home early Monday morning on reports of a prowler and began to investigate the home after smelling marijuana. Jordan was growing about 200 plants inside her garage. She is facing felony charges.

 

Area teachers soar in latest evaluations

Howard, Miami and Tipton counties have received generally high ratings from the latest form of teacher evaluations. Indiana Department of Education released the data Monday. However, some state legislators question the effectiveness of the subjective criteria. Indiana schools are allowed to select how they evaluate teachers by each school – making grading specific to each school; instead of the same criteria for each school.
