Live the life of ‘Downton Abbey’

“Downton Abbey” spirit is coming to Kokomo. Kokomo Howard County Public Library is hosting an English-styled afternoon tea at Elliott House, 1216 W. Sycamore St. The female-only festivities will feature a costume contest for best dressed and best period hat. Plus, Pianist Mike Buck will bring entertainment for the ears. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at KHCPL’s website.

Farmers-Market fresh

Kokomo Downtown Farmers Market got off to a strong start during the weekend. The market, located at Mulberry and Washington streets, hosted 15 vendors, entertainment by Rhum Academy and delicious treats. Kokomo Downtown Farmers Market will also debut an Instagram photo contest for the market. People with an artistic eye can capture moments at the market, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, and use the hashtag #KokomoFarmersMarketPhotoContest .
