Hoosier wins ‘The Voice’
“The Voice” has named a Hoosier as its winner. Josh Kaufman took the number 1 spot on “The Voice” last night. Kaufman, who was originally on Team Adam before being stolen by Team Usher, swept the stage with a performance of “Set Fire to the Rain” Monday night. Kaufman tweeted about his excitement last night before jet-setting to New York for a round of interviews: “Wow… Wow… THANK YOU!!!!! #TeamUsher #TeamJosh #voicetop1.”
Kaufman is a SAT tutor and a father of three. Jake Worthington from Team Blake finished second and Team Adam’s Christina Grimmie rounded out the top three. Kaufman wins a record contract with Universal and $100,000.
Oh, boy… or girl
Baby names of 2013 are in. Babies everywhere will have angst against their parents in about 13 years for the names Mom and Dad scribbled on the birth certificate. The days of Anne and Sam are long gone, folks. In 2013, parents popularized names like Vanellope (the name of a character on “Wreck-It Ralph”). Other popular names for little ladies? Pistol, Prim, Rarity, Rebelle, and don’t forget Bellatrix. The baby boys of the world were hardly spared of the bad-name game either. Popular names for boys? Hatch, Tuf, Lloyal, Charger, Power and Warrior. Logan, a traditional boy name, took a twist in 2013: 704 girls were named Logan in 2013.
