Delphi Gives Back

“Delphi Gives Back” is kicking off its fifth year of lending a hand to the community. During “Delphi Gives Back”, 250 employee-volunteers beautify their community with painting, landscaping and building. This year, volunteers also refurbished and donated 95 bicycles for kids. More activities include: a food drive, car show, bicycle race, and installation of a Born Learning Trail at Pettit Park School. “Delphi Gives Back” wraps up June 27 with a family appreciation day.

 

Algae advisory for Mississinewa Lake

Mississinewa Lake is under an algae advisory. Although lake goers can still swim and boat in the lake, Indiana DNR issued a blue-algae advisory – the lowest level of notifications – for the lake. Visitors are cautioned to not contact the toxic bacteria, which could cause rashes and sores, and to keep dogs out of the water. Mississinewa is located about 8 miles southeast of Peru.

 

Ford Tri-Motors plane tours Midwest

History is flying through the skies as the “Tin Goose” cruises through the Midwest in a tour. The “Tin Goose” is one of the legendary and remaining Ford Tri-Motors in the world and EAA is giving you a chance to fly in it. The engine will be revving up at Anderson Municipal Airport through June 25, before the flight cruises to Huntington Municipal Airport June 26 through June 29. July dates include spots in Ohio and Michigan. Adult tickets are $70 in advance; $50 for children. For more information, visit www.eaa.org.
