A Girl Scout Honor

Five Kokomo residents encompassed the meaning of “Kokomo Strong” as they helped the Kokomo Girl Scout Office battle the April 2013 floods. The group of five, which include: Jake Schmidt, Angie Dwiggins, Erika Bailey, James Frakes and Tanya Frakes were all awarded with the second-highest honor by the Girl Scout organization during the weekend. The Girl Scout Honor Pin, which the group received, highlights individuals who go above and beyond in service to their communities.

Country Music wins big at Teen Choice Awards

Teen Choice Awards were full of music and major personalities Sunday night. Country music made more than just a few appearances as well. Country Choice Female Artist went to Taylor Swift; while the male version of the award went to Hunter Hayes. Choice Country Song was “This Is How We Roll”.
