Tionna Brown Day

Aug. 11 was declared Tionna Brown Day. Brown is a Central Middle School student running her way to success; as she recently competed in the Junior USA Olympics in Humble, Texas. Brown brought home wins in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash. Mayor Greg Goodnight declared Monday, Aug. 11 as Tionna Brown Day Monday during a ceremony inside the City Council Chambers.

Hall of Fame inductees

The 2014 Hall of Fame inductees have been announced. The prestigious list includes Greg Achors for swimming. He led Haworth High School to an IHSAA State Championship from 1980 to 1982. Harold Cox for basketball. He played for Kokomo High School from 1952- 1954. Other inductees include: Greg Lucas, LaShonda Davis, Austin Parkinson and Mike Platt.
