Smoking ban moves forward
Protestors battled, but the smoking ban moved forward. More than 50 protestors stood outside of Kokomo City Hall as Kokomo Common Council voted on the smoking ban’s first reading. The potential ban would not allow smoking inside bars, taverns, fraternal organizations and social clubs. The ban would also prohibit the use of E-cigarettes in any enclosed areas. Those specific amendments to the smoking ban for the city were moved forward in a 5-4 vote.
Peru teenager injured by fireworks
A Peru teenager is undergoing treatment for burns after the passenger in his car tried to throw fireworks out of the car’s window. The teen suffered severe burns on his hands and sides. The incident happen at East 5th Street in Peru.
