Wigwam saved from demolition

The Wigwam in Anderson has been saved. The historic home to basketball was close to meeting a fate of demolition, if a deal was not approved by Sept. 2. As of Aug. 29, the legendary gym was rescued when the Anderson Redevelopment Commission and Anderson Community Schools board of trustees approved a plan for BWI and Pinebrook Properties to take control of the property until 2030. Anderson Community Schools pledged $630,00 to the project.
