Seiberling Mansion offers evening hours
The Seiberling Mansion's stoic presence shines at night; that's why Howard County Historical Society is hosting six special evening openings in December.
Christmas at the Seiberling kicks off with the annual lighting ceremony on November 29th. However, the holiday beauty won't end there: The mansion will be open on Thursdays and Fridays, Dec. 4 and 5, 11 and 12, and 18 and 19 from 4:00-8:00pm. Those evening hours are in addition to the regular hours of 1:00-4:00pm Tuesday through Saturday. More information is available at howardcountymuseum.org.
Redistricting approved for Kokomo
Kokomo Common Council has voted in favor to redistrict the city. The ordinance will shift all six of the city's districts, and some residents will be represented by a different council member as a result of the redistricting. The city's annexation and state law were the reasons behind the changes that took effect Nov. 6.
We Care Kids Concert
The annual We Care Concert brings kids from Kokomo together to sing the songs of "Frozen" tonight at 7 p.m. at St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Tickets for the show are $2 and all proceeds go to We Care.
Preparing for Black Friday
Retailers are getting a reminder from Indiana Department of Labor to keep customers and employees safe during Black Friday.
Retailers are recommended to put employees through training about how to organize large groups; and implement plans to immediately address any emergency situations — including having automatic defibrillators.
Historically, workers and shoppers nationwide have been hurt and even killed as a result of poor preparation in safety plans.
