Kokomo to host unveiling

Kokomo School Corporation will host the community to reveal the recently renovated auditorium of Central Middle International School Dec. 15. The historic school was formerly Kokomo High School; and tour guides will be giving a detailed account of the school’s history from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 15.

Downtown train depot honored

The downtown train depot was honored Thursday as City of Kokomo officials unveiled a historical marker. The train depot’s story started in 1910 — it recently underwent renovations as part of downtown Kokmo’s revitalization efforts. More than $10 million was invested in private redevelopment in the depot district at Buckeye Street.

State Rep takes on new role

State Rep. Mike Karickhoff will serve a new role in 2015. Karickhoff has been appointed Budget Subcommittee Chariman of the Ways and Means Committee. Additionally, he’ll serve on the Natural Resources Committee.
