Chrysler to invest millions in Kokomo
Chrysler will invest $266 million in Kokomo. The corporation made the announcement Monday that it will bring in millions for new manufacturing equipment to two of its four Kokomo plants. The two plants expected to benefit from the money are: Kokomo Transmission Plant and Kokomo Casting Plant. The money will expand production of 8-speed transmissions. Kokomo Common Council unanimously approved a 10-year tax abatement on personal property taxes for Chrysler's investment money during its Monday-night meeting.

Peru man faces animal cruelty charges
A Peru man, who let his 12-year-old dog freeze to death in its kennel, is facing animal cruelty charges. David Shuck left the dog in an outdoor kennel during his week-long hunting trip last month, and said he was unaware of the sub-below temperatures while he was gone. Shuck was arrested last week.
