Career shifts in Tipton County
Some major changes were announced in Tipton County Wednesday. Kevin Tolloty, Tipton County Plan Commission Executive Director, announced his resignation from his post which is effective Dec. 31. Tolloty served the county for nine months, before accepting a job in city of Elletsville, Ind. On the same day, Tipton County attorney John H. Brooke announced he will not renew his contract for 2015.
 
Downtown eyesore to be redeveloped
The former Northern Indiana Supply Company building downtown Kokomo is getting a big boost in the world of redevelopment. The South Main Street building will be transformed into an upscale apartment complex with 180 units. Indianapolis-based firm Flaherty & Collins will renovate the 104-year-old building with $5 million in tax credits, $6 million of city tax abatement. The remaining $23 million for the project will be contributed by the development firm.
 

Some ugly fun at Kokomo YMCA

Bring in the holiday season with some ugly flair. That's the goal of Kokomo YMCA: The organization is hosting an Ugly Christmas Sweater party as a fundraiser for its new facility. The ugly fun begins Dec. 19 at Elite Banquet and Conference Center. For more information, visit kokomoymca.org.
