Luke Bryan’s “Dirt Road Diary” exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum opened today in Nashville. People.com featured a couple of the items, but one really stood out.
It’s the hand-written lyrics to the first song he ever wrote, and it included this phrase: “The only way to live right, begins by putting down that cold Bud Light”. He was a teenager at the time and working on a career as a Christian songwriter.
Obviously, he changed course. But even more ironic is that his catalog is heavy with boozy songs like “Beer In the Headlights”, “Drinkin’ Beer and Wastin’ Bullets”, “Drink a Beer”, and “Drunk on You”.
