A 57-year-old named Kevin Doyle spent the last month walking 645 miles from San Francisco to San Diego dressed as a Stormtrooper from “Star Wars”.

He did it in memory of his wife Eileen, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2012. He actually started in Petaluma, which is about 40 miles north of San Francisco.

Kevin says he’s still having trouble dealing with her death, and hoped this might help put it behind him. He also says Eileen was a “self-proclaimed geek”, but if she saw him now, she’d still say: “You’re such a dork.”

He arrived in San Diego around noon yesterday. Kevin was met by some other stormtroopers from the local “garrison” and posted a photo with them near the ocean on Twitter and Facebook. As of last night, he hadn’t posted any from Comic-Con itself.
