Meet the Video Game Hall of Fame inductees

I’m surprised it’s taken this long for someone to start an official video game hall of fame. It’s finally here, and it looks like they might actually know what they’re doing.
The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York is the home of the National Toy Hall of Fame, and now they’re opening up a new World Video Game Hall of Fame. They announced the first six inductees yesterday, check them out:

“Pong”.

“Pac-Man”.

“Super Mario Bros.”.

“Tetris”.

“Doom”, the game that made shooting games with a “first person” perspective a massive genre.

And “World of Warcraft”.

A few nominees that didn’t make the cut were “Space Invaders”, “Pokemon”, “Angry Birds”, “The Legend of Zelda”, “The Oregon Trail”, and “Minecraft”.
