It’s a lot to ask people to change their passwords once every six months, even once a year. How about once a decade? No matter how lazy you are, that seems reasonable, right?
A new survey found one in flve people are still using passwords they haven’t changed in at least 10 years.
Just under half of us are using at least one we haven’t changed in five years.
The survey also found 73 percent of us use the same password for more than one account — the average person uses six for 24 different websites.
Finally, 30 percent of people have had an account hacked or compromised, but more than a quarter of them still didn’t change their password afterwards.
