Everyone’s friends with those obnoxious couples who constantly post about each other on Facebook. It’s just nonstop photos, wall posts, and any other public display of Facebook affection they can think of.

Well guess what? According to a new study, their relationships are better than yours. So maybe you should be more like them.

Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison found that couples that had their relationship status as “in a relationship” and posted a lot of photos of each other on Facebook were more likely to stay together than couples that don’t.

“These publicly posted cues likely induced participants to perceive themselves as part of a romantic unit, thus cementing the relationship.”

In other words: When you brag about your relationship to the world, it actually makes your relationship more solid.
