1. Whoever you’re with will feel more appreciated. Look at it this way — it’s way cheaper than spending money on gifts or fancy meals.
2. You might be able to stop fights before they happen. Tone is important in a conversation, and when you text, you miss it. That can lead to fights. In other words, actually talk instead of texting.
3. You’ll have a better work/life balance. If you’re checking your work email at home, you obviously aren’t giving whoever you’re with the attention they deserve. Plus, getting an angry email from your boss can ruin your night.
4. Your sex life will improve. TVs, iPads, and especially phones are a huge distraction in the bedroom. Try going at least 30 minutes before bed with no screen time — you’ll probably have more sex because of it.
