Now that all of those hacked Ashley Madison profiles have been leaked online — and everyone’s done looking up their spouses and friends — people are starting to get creative with the data.
A scientist named Jake Popham analyzed every single profile from the U.S. to find which STATES lead the country in cheating — based on how much they spend on their Ashley Madison accounts.
Alabama came in first, with its average Ashley Madison user spending $5.50. Since plenty of people sign up but don’t get a paid account, that means a lot of people signed up for paid memberships to balance them out and get the average up that high.

The rest of the top 10 are: Colorado, Washington D.C., New Jersey, Connecticut, Arkansas, Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire and Virginia.
On the other end, Ashley Madison users from West Virginia only spent an average of $1.
