A guy in Berkeley, California named Mike Vegas wanted to enjoy his day off on Sunday, so he ordered pizza and wings from Domino’s.
But he got called in to work right after the food got there. He only ate one slice, put the rest in the fridge, and took off. Then he was super-busy at his job until 5:00 a.m., we’re not sure exactly what he does.
Anyway, when he got home, he did what you do when you get home from work at 5:00 a.m. you get your wing on. But when he opened the box in his fridge, there wasn’t any delicious chicken inside.
Instead, Mike found $1,300 in cash, in two big stacks. His phone had been blowing up at work, but he was too busy to answer at the time, and it was an unknown number.
Turns out it was the Domino’s delivery guy calling him. He’d been on his way to the bank to make a deposit, and Mike was his last delivery that day.
As a random exercise, Mike posted on Facebook asking what he should do, and lots of people told him to KEEP the money. But he knew he was going to return it. So he walked back to Domino’s on Monday to drop it off.
The general manager told him that honest people are hard to find these days. And as a thank-you, they gave Mike free pizza for a year.
