The Texaco Country Showdown is coming to North Central Indiana. WWKI is serving as a host for the 2013 Texaco Country Showdown talent contest. The Showdown was opened to vocal and/or instrumental performers, individuals, or groups of up to seven members who have not performed on a record listed in the national record charts of Billboard within eighteen months.
All the performers for the local WWKI showdown have been entered and assigned a performance night. Monday through Friday, July 8 – 12, five or six contestants will compete. Then the winner of each night will sing and compete on Saturday night for the chance to go on to sing at the Indiana State Fair competition.
