Lindsay Eckert is joining Kevin Burris on the WWKI Morning Show. Leaving her position as Lifestyle Editor of the Kokomo Tribune, Lindsay will start on Monday, November 4, 2013. As a part of the KI Crew, you'll see Lindsay at remotes, special events, and maybe on the upcoming We Care Telethon.
Lindsay grew up with the sound of country music threaded into all of her life’s favorite moments. She was raised three miles from her grandparents’ home: A land of farm animals, pets and a workshop where her Pap taught her to weld and build swings while they waited for the potbelly stove to heat up their hot cocoa. Country music was always in the background and provided a soundtrack to so many of her memories, whether it was on the way to horse shows or en route to report on a story – it’s part of her life; and she’s thrilled country music gives her the opportunity to be part of your mornings.
When Lindsay isn’t lending her voice to Kevin and Lindsay in the Morning, she’s lending her writing voice to WWKI.com, since her roots in media stem from a love of writing and reporting at an early age. Lindsay grew up reporting – from the driver’s seat of her Barbie Jeep—on hard-hitting topics such as rocks, dirt, and neighbors working in the yard. She later headed to Bloomington, Ind.—sans Barbie Jeep, of course—for a master’s degree at the IU School of Journalism. A career in TV news at WISH-TV followed, and a desire to write at length never wavered. Lindsay made the move to print journalism in 2011 and later became the lifestyle editor at Kokomo Tribune, where she wrote local features about the people and places that make small communities thrive.
Lindsay’s passion may be writing, but being part of your community and lives is what drives her – that and a cup of coffee.

We are beyond excited about Lindsay officially joining the WWKI family! We love Lindsay, and we're sure you will too. Make sure you tune in weekday mornings starting at 5 AM for Kevin and Lindsay in the Morning!
