Child Abuse Prevention Month

April marks Child Abuse Prevention Month as proclaimed by Mayor Greg Goodnight last week. A calendar of events will feature speakers and insight for the community to have a hand in helping preventing child abuse in our community. The first event, “Pinwheels of Prevention” of the month will kick off Tuesday at Family Service Association, 618 S. Main St., at 7:30 p.m.

Downtown progress

Downtown progress is continuing to build. The parking garage at Union and Sycamore streets is beginning to form its third floor. The completed garage will be four floors tall with 396 parking spots and the fifth floor will be home to a 35-unit apartment complex.
