KPD investigates officer crash

Kokomo Police Department is investigating a crash between a KPD squad car and a 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass that happened Friday morning. KPD Officer Chad VanCamp rear-ended 22-year-old Allison Beachy on Dixon Road; neither party was seriously injured during the crash that occurred at the West Carter Street intersection. KPD Chief Rob Baker said it’s likely a professional standards investigation will be conducted for the crash.


Assistant principal named for Tri- Central High School

Tri-Central High School hires a new assistant principal. Sharon Fields will take over the role, once held by Anne-Marie Bailey who passed away after a battle with cancer Mar. 12. Fields was approved for the position at a Tri-Central Community School Corporation board of education meeting; the board voted 6-0 to hire Fields to approve Fields in her new position – effective July 1.
