Art in the library

Kokomo Art Association is taking its spring show on the road. The strokes of creativity are featured at Kokomo-Howard County Public Library through the end of May. Get a glimpse of local artistry during library hours; for more information, visit www.khcpl.org.

The circus is in town

Lions, tigers and elephants are heading to downtown Kokomo for the annual Kelly Miller Circus. The one-ring extravaganza will feature two hours of entertainment at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. May 9 at Future Park, 400 S. Apperson Way. The community can get a sneak peak of the circus at 9 a.m. when the animals are unloaded and the elephants pull the elaborate circus tent into the morning air.

Kokomo Parks Superintendent Randy Morris said the once-a-year extravaganza is a must-see show.

“The Kelly Miller Circus is one of the last true traveling big-top circuses,” Morris said. “No matter where you sit inside the tent, spectators are close to the action and become part of the magic of Circus Day as it has been experienced for over 200 years.”
