Historical school closing

St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Tipton is closing its final chapter in education May 23. The school’s lengthy history of 129 years was not enough to save the school from decreasing enrollment and decreased attendance at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. The school staffs seven teachers, a principal and a secretary to educate 59 students.

Irsay is back

Colts Owner Jim Irsay is back on the Twitter machine and has tamed down his 140 character-comments. Irsay first tweeted Thursday: “Just wanna thank ColtsNation for all the love n support! Humbling! Quiet night in DraftRoom/back at it 2morrow (but I never know with Grigs).” Irsay was arrested in March after he was pulled over in Carmel for a DUI. Police found prescription bottles and $29,000 cash on Irsay during the stop.

National Anthem goes country

We love country music and we love racing at Hit Country KI; so, when the two combine it’s a concoction we cheer on. We’re just a tad excited (alright, really excited) Leann Rimes will be lending her pipes to the National Anthem for Indianapolis 500. Ms. Rimes herself is pretty pumped as well as she tweeted about the big announcement: “Excited and honored to be performing the anthem at the Indy 500.” Rimes is no stranger to the National Anthem, she featured the song on her 1997 album “You Light Up My Life.”
