The downtown movement: Confection up next

Downtown is getting delicious. The Gingerbread House Bakery will be sweetening up Buckeye Street starting in July. The bakery that features an array of bakery items and donuts will move to 505 N. Buckeye St. next month. Husband-and-wife duo, Matt and Lauren Gaines, chose downtown for the extra space and pumped-up progress of the area. The sweet-treat location will have a large basement for increased kitchen size and a seating area to welcome in the community for dessert downtown.

Midget Week gets moving

The start of USAC’s Midget Week went from racing to rain, quickly. The first show of Midget Week was set for Gas City last night— before Mother Nature put it in park. Tonight’s show will rev up in Putnamville; followed by Friday-night’s feature in Bloomington; Saturday night in Lawrenceburg and the final race of Midget Week will power through the dirt of Kokomo Speedway Sunday night. The Midget Week points champ will get a check for $2,500 at Kokomo Speedway’s Victory Lane. The racing gets rolling at 6 p.m. Sunday at Kokomo Speedway.
