Downtown business closing

Downtown Walgreens is shutting its doors next month. The pharmacy at Sycamore and Washington streets is one of four Walgreens locations in Kokomo; and will close July 17 as part of the company’s shutdown of 76 underperforming stores. Employees will be transferred to one of three other locations in Kokomo.

Street closure

A water main break on Thursday is shutting down Washington Street until Saturday. Washington Street will stay closed between West Taylor and West Jefferson streets. City of Kokomo has ongoing plans to resurface Jackson Street at Washington Street for a separate project this week.
