Renovating Downtown Kokomo

Ivy Tech Community College is the new kid on the block at the downtown Armstrong-Landon Building and the school is building its way to a better a Kokomo and educational experience for students. Ivy Tech will renovate the fourth floor of the building to provide classrooms and offices for the new School of Computing and Informatics. The school will finish renovations by mid-August and spend $150,000 on two computer-lab classrooms.

 

A taste of New Orleans

Buckeye Street is getting a facelift, now it’s getting a serving of New Orleans style cuisine. Boondocks Food and Spirits is the newest restaurant digs to move into the renovated Buckeye Street and it’ll open its doors in just four months to offer up seafood, steak and specialty burgers in the 8,000-square-foot location. The restaurant will also be home to live jazz and blues music at the 513 N. Buckeye St. spot.

 

New KFD sworn in

Wednesday marked a big moment in Kokomo Fire Department. The Department officially swore in Nick Glover as the new KFD Chief inside City of Kokomo Council Chambers during the Board of Works meeting.
