Kokomo Family YMCA gets more funding
Kokomo Family YMCA has received $8.5 million more in funding from City of Kokomo. A few hours after the groundbreaking ceremony in honor of the future 73,000-square foot facility, Kokomo Common Council unanimously voted to approve issuing $8.5 million in economic development revenue bonds for Kokomo YMCA — totaling the city’s contribution to the project to $12.5 million.
 

War dogs remembered

War dogs have been forever commemorated for their loyalty as Dog Daze volunteers of Kokomo unveiled a statue of a war dog in Mohr Dog Park Tuesday. Military war dogs have served the country since World War I; and saved the lives of more than 10,000 service men and women.
 

Eastern Schools brings sixth-grade students into high school building

Eastern Schools’ sixth-grade Students will be moved to the Jr/Sr building for its 2015-2016 school year. The school board approved the move during its meeting Tuesday. The school board also approved home-schooled students participating in Eastern Schools extracurricular activities during its Tuesday meeting.
